The SanFilippo Design Process for a landscape installation project:

Consultation

San Filippo’s initial consultation is free of charge. We take the time to closely listen to your ideas, goals and dreams for your landscape. We will ask you a series of questions to uncover the possibilities for the project, to best determine how San Filippo can help you achieve your ultimate goal of a beautiful landscape.

We will talk about budgets, fees, timing and any other issues important to the success of your project. Once those questions are answered, we move onto the next phase; design.

Design

This step in the process is an important one. Good design is the foundation to a landscape of lasting beauty and value. Depending on the overall size and scope of the project your landscape design could range from a simple design, to a complex layout covering several pages.

The complexity of your design will determine if a design retainer fee would be required. This would be determined at the initial consultation.

The design process is as follows:

Site survey and analysis
We will visit the site to make detailed measurements of existing architectural and landscape features that are important to the project. We take photos and will note cultural features such as wind and sun/shade directions and drainage patterns.

We combine this field information, with any information you may have such as a plot of survey or building plans for the house, to create a base map of this project.

Preliminary design and budget study
Your preliminary landscape design plan will have all of the landscape spaces designed out showing the intent of the design but will be missing specific details as to the exact type and size of plant material. This allows us to focus on the design making sure we have met all your project criteria.

A budget study that explores different pricing options based on material selections helps you determine a reasonable project budget. This step allows for any revisions to the design.

Construction drawings and detailed proposal
Once the scope and budget of the project is determined from the preliminary design and budget study, detailed construction drawings and cost proposals are prepared for your final review and approval.

Pre-construction material selection: Depending on your level of involvement, we will work with you on material selections. We will hand select the plant material with you and bring you to our wholesale suppliers to select the stones for your patio.

Construction/Installation
We take every precaution to protect and preserve your existing landscape during the construction phase of your project. We locate existing utilities and secure all the necessary permits.

We have pre-construction meetings with you and our crews and we communicate with you on a daily basis.

As the project draws near completion we conduct a walk through with you to make sure you are completely satisfied. Once your project is complete our goal is for you to become a life time maintenance customer.
